Sex and relationship therapy for all

CONTACT ME

Lucy Frank Sex and relationship therapist

As a qualified Psychosexual & Relationship therapist, I help individuals, couples, and poly-dynamics overcome the barriers that hold them back from living satisfying, sex-positive lives, and from having meaningful, deeply connective relationships. I am interested in creating real, impactful, sustainable change for everyone that I work with.

I am registered with the College of Sexual & Relationship Therapists (COSRT) am a member of the National Council of Integrative Psychotherapists (NCIP); I work to their code of ethics with ongoing supervision, and am an individual member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

I am an integrative therapist (a psychological approach that uses multiple therapy models depending on the patient's needs), with a particular interest in Gestalt (present moment and self-awareness) and Psychodynamic (the root of behaviours). My style is expert, direct, open, honest, sometimes confronting, empathetic, and truth-finding. I will come to the sessions with complete authenticity, non-judgment and commitment to the process; all I ask is that you do the same. I work privately and have also worked for the NHS.

I am passionate about having real conversations with real people, helping to close the space between us all.

What to expect?

Sex and relationships, in all their rich tapestry, are CORE to our lives so I take my work as seriously as the subject-matter.

My therapeutic relationships are built on trust and empathy, always private and confidential, and governed by professional and personal moral and ethical principles. Our initial no-obligation consultation will act as a two-way interview, a chance for us to both work out whether we are right for one another, and for me to understand what has brought you to therapy. Therapy is a minimum of a 6-session commitment, usually weekly or bi-weekly and lasts one hour. We would then work together to decide what the on-going therapeutic relationship will look like and how many sessions will be needed.

I am CRB checked, GDPR compliant, and hold professional indemnity insurance.

So, open the conversation now, creating clarify from confusion, using ‘frank’ expertise.

Therapy with the Y Xologist

  • Having therapy with The Y Xologist has been an invaluable part to exposing blind spots in our relationship and creating equality again. Her ability to create a space that fosters self-reflection, trust and growth is a gift. I would recommend her to anyone that wants to unlock their full self.

  • When I came to see Lucy I was not the best version of myself. I was confused about several areas of my life – my sexual identity, the breakdown of my marriage, and the destructive relationships I had on repeat. After eight sessions, however, the clouds really began to part and today I feel like ‘me’ again. I am immensely grateful for her expertise and the ability to create a safe environment in which I could explore my most private thoughts. Her perceptive and empathetic nature really helped me; she genuinely cares, and it shows.
  • We found it difficult finding a therapist that is right for us as a same-sex female couple. But when we met Lucy, we knew she was the right match for us straight away. Her depth of knowledge and ability to see things in us that we can’t see in ourselves has been humbling. When we came to her, we were in a really dark place, but after 24 sessions, our relationship has greatly improved, and we are more in love and connected than we have ever been. I can’t thank her enough.

Pricing, packages & services

Generally, six one-hour sessions are a good place to start - but some clients often need more support. I will always contract with you so that you can be confident that our sessions are as individual as your situation. All I ask for is that you give me 24 hours’ notice if you need to move or cancel a session so that you don’t incur a charge.

I also lead connective retreats and workshops, as well as holding group therapy.
